Foz Iguazu (Foz do Iguaçu in Portuguese) is a locality of Brazil placed in the extreme west of the state of Parana, in the border among Argentina and Paraguay. Its estimated population in year 2004 was 293,646 inhabitants, and with more than 650 thousand inhabitants in the urban zone formed by Foz, Ciudad del Este in Paraguay and Puerto Iguazú in Argentina.
The city is famous by its tourist attractions that gather people of Brazil and the whole world. Among them the Iguazu Falls, the hydroelectric dam of Itaipú and the place where the Iguazu River has its mouth in the Parana known like three borders area.
