San Martin of the Andes is a mountain city, in the southwest of Neuquén province, located in the Mountain range of Los Andes, Argentina, on the east coast of the Lácar Lake, and is the most important tourist locality of the province.
It was officially founded on February 4th 1898 by the Argentine troops on the valley that in mapudungun is called “Pucaullhué” this is: “place of the gulls”.
